i think i am going to wait until i get it. if it comes back in 7,8, even 9 days, i'll let her comments ride. if it takes 10 or more, i am considering calling the city attorney as suggested early in this thread just to hear what he/she says about the city violating the law. i'll report back either way.

Actually, out of this titanic bitch slapping battle of egos and rhetoric, there is a middle course that suggests itself as far as those who feel that their liberties are being infringed and want to do something about it, yet avoid the downside of pissing in people's ears at the local police department that may create a lasting bad karma when Obama bin Laden really starts cracking down on us:

To quote Patrick Swayze in the B-- movie "Roadhouse", "Be courteous!!!" If the clerk says you get it our way in 10 days and this ain't Burger King, be courteous. Send a polit letter without ranting to the Chief reporting this person's disrespectful behavior. If the Chief shines you on and says he's backed up on paperwork, be courteous and walk away. Then file the appropriate letter with the state law quoted and the date events happened and/or did NOT happen with the local attorney or city manager. Do whatever it is you want to do politely in official correspondence, keep your fat yap shut, and leave a paper trail for people to remember. Keep in mind that this stuff IS discoverable in legal actions, and if a clerk or Chief accumulates too much of this stuff it will haunt them, and may make them straighten up and behave.

Now then seeing as I refuse to indulge in the bitch slapping masquerading as some sort of argument or logic, I am just going to jump all the way in the deep end of the trough and personally attack people without any appeal to reason or the subject at hand.

I think that through his egotistical character bashing in the last post, SS deserves the word of the day award for his use of the word miscegenation in his unwarranted, unprovoked, and frankly hurtful personal attack against me. Ttousi, when you are done trimming your nose hair moustache, you may want to update your WOD thread.

I'm just saying that if someone divulged my "moustache made of nosehairs" secret, I'd be a little upset, that's all.

sorry to bring this thread back to its original gist but i did promise to update on my own application for a ptp. as of yesterday i had not received my ptp, an elapse of 12 days. i called the police dept. and inquired about it. after some time on hold i was politely informed it was there ready to be picked up or it could be mailed to me. i called the city offices and requested to speak to the city attorney. i was informed of his name and his phone #. i called him and relayed my dismay and confusion over not receiving my ptp within the 7 days as mandated by state law and tat it took almost twice as long (it would have been more than twice if i would have had them mail it to me). his response was for me to call the local police chief and get an explanation, afterall, "i am only on call and not full time for the city; i'm in private practice" (not exact quotes but an accurate sumary). i have since left a message at 9 am to the policeman in charge of ptp s and have yet to get a call back. while checking on the protocols for bringing this to the attention of the city council at the next city council meeting the city manager was very kind and seemingly interested into helping me get some answers and quiet my uneasiness about the city's element that is in place to uphold and enforce the law is intent and designing to not obey it. he has taken my name and phone # and has promised to follow up on this issue for me.
and the saga continues!

i do have one - utah - and i don't want to go through all the arguments of not having a mn carry permit. utah permit does not allow me to purchase in mn. thus my need for a ptp.
