Carson has made some comments that he doesn't believe that people need semiautomatic rifles, not exactly the kind of 2A talk I like to hear. You guys keep saying electable, I don't see any of the elephants in these circus debates as being great candidates. None of them seem to be able to avoid saying things that fracture what is left of the party.

Debates on 2A?

Postby LumberZach on Sun Sep 20, 2015 7:31 am

You say that, but I think Rubio would have a real shot at appealing to the majority, but doesn't get much attention because he isn't the loudest conservative. It's a tough situation this time around.

Honestly, Carson is a joke. He's not ready, and he won't be.
Paul is stands no chance. He's not his father. He's a compromise.
Trump is a media whore, albeit a popular one.
Walker doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell.
Cruz is in it for Cruz.
I don't see Fiorina making it, though I like her ability to beat up Hillary.
I really don't think it's Rubios time.
**** Bush.

Honestly, at this point I don't know what to think....

I don't know what to make of Trump. I think he'd be a bitter disappointment if elected, much like our Jessie (Scruff Face) Ventura was. The one thing he's doing right is he's showing the way how to attract voters by taking a stand for America and what is American, and not backing down when confronted by a hostile media.

Rubio is most definately on our side with his comment in the debate about "we don't need any more gun laws because criminals don't obey laws" Fiorina just made a gigantic leap in the polls today and is now 2nd behind Trump. I would vote for her. Of all the canidates on that stage, she was the smartest and most knowledgable about issues. She can think quickly on her feet. I'd love to see an election with her against the Hiderbeast...the public gets what it wants A woman president (at least that's what the media is telling us)...and I think Fiorina would mop the floor in any debate with the Hilderbeast. :D

Debates on 2A?

Postby LumberZach on Mon Sep 21, 2015 4:11 pm

You guys keep saying Hillary will be the dem, but I'm thinking/hoping Sanders gets the nomination. I think more swing voters would be less inclined to vote for an actual socialist than a republican. A guy can dream at least. I agree though, I wouldn't mind seeing Fiorina win the nomination.

I wouldn't mind that either. Some say that Fiorina would pull the women vote, but I know some see her as too hard, not compassionate, so I am not sure.

The "women's vote" is nothing but a ruse to elect more liberals. If Fiorina becomes the nominee, she will be savaged, just like Sara Palin was.

I've not fact checked this but I've heard that roughly half of Americans are women.

I've heard the same rumor, not sure if I believe it.

As a formerly single man I can tell you that this is indeed not true. I think the ratio is more like 4:1 men to women.

Even so, I'm curious about your contention... Do you imply that the voting women population will automatically vote for a woman because they share the same gender? I'd likely vote for Fiorina and I am most definitely not female. So males must think differently.

Debates on 2A?

I assume you are questioning Cobb's assertation (post 26).

Since this is the Internet and everyone gets an opinion, I'll say that I think that (i) it is foolish to dismiss a large portion of the voter base and (ii) voters use a lot of dumb reasons to vote for (not vote for) a candidate (see Obama phones, birthers, MNGTers who are single issue voters, etc).
