The S&W M&P seemed that it might be a good fit, but I’ve bought her the wrong thing too many times, so this last weekend I took her to a gun store in Rogers to handle some potential options.
A perfect example of the effects of a guy trying to buy a gun for a woman. I still have a standing $50 bet with any guy that thinks he can pick out the right firearm for a wife/girlfriend/SO to go into a woman's shoe store, look around and then pick out the pair of shoes that you think she will buy. Then let her go in and buy a pair of shoes and see if you're right. You, of course have a snowball's chance in hell of picking the right pair of shoes, because you have no clue about women and shoes. Well, it's no different with guns, because even though a guy can understand a lot about guns, they still have no clue about what a woman actually wants. The above poster is the perfect example, and he's gone through a pretty fair sum of money to learn this lesson.
My suggestion is to contact Wrench or Sawgrass on this forum, and let them help your wife out while you have a beer and watch football. You really need another woman to help your wife out in a situation like this.
Sure I do! Get her shoes that (1) Have three-inch or higher heels, and (2) Hurt her feet; that way she constantly shifts from foot to foot swaying in a way that shows off her legs and hips.Seismic Sam wrote:You, of course have a snowball's chance in hell of picking the right pair of shoes, because you have no clue about women and shoes.

Sam,
I've never bought a firearm for my wife in the past. She has always used one of mine, but as noted they don't properly fit her. My comment about buying her the wrong thing in the past was in reference to items like clothes, shoes. etc. which are usually the wrong size and always the wrong color. I've been a LE firearms instructor for about 25 years so I've seen the challenge women have with many firearms generally designed to fit the average man. As to having her receive help from a female trainer, that was another reason for getting her a well fitting handgun. She has finally agreed to accompany me to Tom Givens' Rangemaster Tactical Conference in March and she wants to participate in the ladies only session.

I concur, China is quite a gal and a pretty good shot. I hope you are getting her a new pistol for Christmas as she deserves it for the great help she is with the bang-ping.
Sam,
Thanks for the sage advice. I'll be sure to consider it when go shopping
