Seems the tcm vs tcm9r difference is simply a shorter bullet in the tcm9r to fit standard 9mm mags?
I believe that is the difference between the two. I view it as a novelty much like the alternative intermediate calibers for the AR-15 (6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel, 300 Blackout). Until cartridges or platforms get adopted by the military or significant LE numbers, they really become commercial failures. Ammo cost becomes the defining factor.

I guess B&T (Swiss company best known for their MP9) is attempting to get more of their products stateside, to include their ROTEX suppressors. Unfortunately for us lowly civies, that would mean they would have to be produced here first.
They are importing more of their scope rails and rail systems to the US and are trying to get their APC-556/APC-9 to the states. I guess they are just getting clued into the US commercial market and how it can be exploited.
