That's not normal?

Sure, for guys like us, but not for regular schmoes like are on the show.

Ah, that is simple Darwinism- those who couldn't make consistent head shots when needed are dead/zombified! :)

It's TV. It's not reality.

Ever participate in sports? Ever pay attention to how sports are "played" on the TV?

Yes, there are many, many inconsistencies from reality that we have to put up with in entertainment. My beef with this particular one was mainly the totally inconsistent nature of Negan picking up the spent brass and inspecting it. Nobody EVER does that for any situation in a movie or TV show. The pancaked bullet on the wooden bat was another that just seemed like ANYONE should realize how wrong that is. Yes, you have to suspend disbelief for a lot of things in a show like this but these were just too far afield.

I do wonder when someone on the show will come along and suggest some type of gun control scheme to keep everyone safer??

Slight change of gears, but I find Negan's character to be entirely unbelievable all on its own. The guy literally steals other men's wives, and then has those same guys working in his trusted inner circle? Combined with all the other horrible stuff he does, someone would have put a bullet in the back of his head long ago. No one has a reason to like him, let alone risk their life for him.

Yes I know it's a show about walking corpses, but that doesn't mean we should have to suspend logic in other aspects.

Not to worry! Rick "will" kill Negan. Not today, not tomorrow. But he will kill Negan

Do you think it will be with a Python held above his sight line and tilted downward at a 10 to 15 degree angle?

Agreed. Especially since he really seems to have no other means of being authoritative other than the fact that he has followers. He doesn't seem to have any particular means of keeping them in line besides his sporadic cruelty. He doesn't seem to offer his group anything that they couldn't get even if he were dead.
