Plead guilty to four counts of possessing stolen property. Sentenced to time served (14 months without bail) plus probation and mandatory mental health treatment. The prosecutors couldn't prove he was anything more than a compulsive hoarder. He WILL get his ass busted if he won't stop acquiring guns.

We ALL suffer from this dysfunctional behavior to some extent, but clearly this guy's train left the station a LOOOOONNNGGG time ago....

Yeah, yeah, I know what you're gonna say, and tell it to LePtomaine....

From the linked article.
The thousands of guns at his home are still being stored by the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office and can
be sold at auction.

Nicholson can't get them back but since the state didn't prove they were stolen, he will get the proceeds when they're sold.

Wtf? So I get the stolen guns but if he did not steal them then why are they taking his other property?

Because he's now a convicted felon and can no longer possess them

I get that. Let me rephrase. Why was he convicted of a felony? The story does not say he stole them. Sounds like he just bought a ton of guns and law of averages some ended up being stolen property. So you see a gun for sale online, you go and meet the guy in a gander mountain parking lot and give him cash and now you are a felon? Am I missing something here? Or is there more to the story? Sounds to me like he got railroaded just because he had a ton of guns.

Now do not get me wrong. I hate theives with a passion, so if he actually stole the guns, hang him. But to me this feels like a case of anti gun prejudice.

How many folks on here are dangerous felons and do not know it?

Heck I am picking up a gun on sale via consignment on Monday from Arnzen Arms. I have no knowledge if it was stolen. I doubt they do. Just a big bunch of felons waiting to be caught I guess.

This story just feels uncomfortable for men. Now I did not watch the video but the text did not make it sound like they proved anything other than 100 guns had been stolen property.

You wrote what I was thinking. Is there more to the story?

Found Arfcom post on it, haven't read it yet

By the footage of this guy's house and property, he has some mental issues to deal with. I agree, something had to happen for this to hit the attention of athorities. More to the story that we won't likely get.

Is receiving stolen property a "strict liability" crime, like statutory rape- saying "I didn't know" isn't a defense?
