People Who Left

Postby Drizzle on Mon Dec 02, 2019 2:24 pm

Whether Steel Shoots, Burnsville Winter League, Glock matches, Trap shooting or simply membership at a local club or activity on here, I remember quite a few faces and a few names I never see anymore. I suppose some moved away, some lost interest in guns, some had the press of family duties or jobs, or whatever reason. It doesn't seem as many have replaced them.

There was a guy named Bruce I used to see with his wife at Steel Shoots. They're gone. A guy whose name I can't remember, but had a ton of piercings and gauges I bought a case from; gone. A few others I bought guns from in parking lots whose names and faces are vague, but aren't around anymore. Anyone else miss these people sometimes, and hope they're doing well?

Absolutely.

I actually have cut way back on my competition shooting (IPSC/IDPA and 3 gun) due to time issues at work. When I do get there, the guys I used to see all the time are no longer there.

On the other hand, overall the number of people showing up is on the increase there.

My hunting group has shrunk due to legal issues, people moving out of state and deaths. Given that’s mostly family, pretty unlikely to increase there.

Kind of depressing to think on that...

We have lost quite few on here too. I miss them all, even the ones I would not think I would miss.

I think many of them are still around, they are just hiding in the weeds.

I'm still here, just not posting much anymore as some "tastes" have changed. Still teaching when the opportunity arises.

For some, like me, it's shifting priorities. I focus more on defensive shooting, training, etc instead of competition shooting.

Russtra will be back eventually to chastise you for your laziness and apathy in not getting the Saturday Night Special law fixed.
