That's it, I'm going to get either an AK pistol or an AR pistol in .300 Blackout while dealers will still sell and ship them (If it isn't already too late). To this end I need advice from those on the board more knowledgeable than I. I'm willing to spend what it takes to buy a decent gun but it doesn't have to be a $2300.00 top-of-the-line model. So if it were up to you, what make and model would you say is worth the price for someone's first intermediate-cartridge gun? And could I hope to buy locally or is it almost certain I'll have to order?

If you get an AK get 7.62x39, if you get an AR get .300BLK. I don't know of many AKs chambered in imperial chamberings and ARs don't feed radically tapered cases as well as straight cases. .300BLK was invented to try to get the lame-@$$ 5.56 up to 7.62x39 ballistics so a bad-guy won't be able to tell the difference between them. Because of the popularity of the AR the BLK is probably much better for diversity of ammo options, but platform characteristics and operation is probably more important.

I'm thinking more about standard-capacity Glock-brand Glock, Glockazines...

Video made private... I guess he doesn't want youtube to tell president Harris he has numerous Glocks. Too bad, it was a funny video.

Cannot help you with local inventory, but I believe there are plenty of AR 300blk pistols available on GB. With a $2300 budget, you can possibly get into something like a Daniel Defense or Seekins. For under $1200 you should be able to get into those budget minded but reputable makes like Springfield or S&W or Rock River Arms. Or buy a Palmetto State Armory kit to assemble, but those are not as cheap as they used to be either.

Now... finding the ammo or components to reload 300blk will be more challenging

I’m not 100% clear on your budget, but it sounds like you do not want to spend $2300 on this purchase. If you did, I think the Sig Rattler in .300 is about the most bad-ass PDW that’s ever been made. Not easy to find these days, but what is?

Whatever you buy....get it today. The Dems essentially just picked up the US Senate.

That’s a very good point. Between the expected legislation that will be passed under total Democrat control, the panic resulting from that expectation, and the panic we’ve already been in for the last year, I’d say today is the day.

With the results of Georgia's Senatorial elections looking bleak, Run! don't walk, to your nearest dealer and get your order in.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Ironically, it's the new stimulus checks that will make this affordable for me.

Okay, it's done: Springfield Saint Victor in .300BLK, 9" barrel. I'm looking at a six-month shipping time, which I fear may- one way or the other- be moot by that time.

I think that's a good choice on rifle. If it were me, I would sign up to be notified when in stock by as many online vendors as I could find and buy it from whoever gets it in first. You might be surprised on timing, some of the bigger dealer like Brownell's and Palmetto get stuff in pretty regularly.

Guns and gear in waite park has a few on the shelf right now. Call to verify!!! Screw 6 months. But, if you don't have ammo for it, why bother. You wont find much or any at all!

Now I wish I'd held off a few days and tried to buy one locally. But I've already put a hefty down payment so I'm locked in.
