It's Official, CZ Acquires Colt

Announced on Thursday, the Česká zbrojovka Group, or CZG, will acquire a 100-percent stake in the historic Colt’s Manufacturing Company as well as its Canadian subsidiary, the Colt Canada Corporation. CZG has agreed to a cash and stock deal that includes $220 million upfront and the issue of just over 1 million shares of newly issued common stock. The combined group will have annual projected revenues of over $500 million.

I am ambivalent. It's a foreign company, but it's not freedom group. And they make great guns.

Ok, I'm all for it.

Their latest move of transferring Dan Wesson warranty service to a CZ location was not great...

My guess is they wanted to get into the AR business and this was a cheap way in.

More like they want an in to DoD business and this is the established way- have to have US manufacturing capability to do so.

Beretta, FN, etc. have gone this route.

Personally, with slow joe in, I’d not be investing in semiauto weapons manufacture at this time. Military select fire, sure, civilian semi, nope.

Didn’t Colt lose their DoD contract for ARs, what are they still selling to them? I thought I read somewhere that most their ARs get exported these days, could be wrong.

Are you saying they will likely repurpose Colt’t plant to make other CZ products?

Why not? Once the law passes outlawing them... if you think they are hard to fine today, the period between the being banned and the ban being effective will be epic.

The mind boggles, and I'm not joking.
