Yes, I know guns are not toys...just like the expression...anyways, posted this in 2 forums w/no replies thusfar, can anyone help me?
Hey all, just bought a Mossberg 835 w/a 28" barrel and had some ?'s. This is the first shotgun I've ever owned, never done skeet or anything, and have only shot my dad's semi-auto Bennelli (sp.), so please go easy on me. These are ?'s for making it a home defense gun, I will worry about bird hunting later.
1: I know the barrel is long, I plan on buying a shorter barrel for home defense, but the barrel is for lead or steel shot...will copper plated 00-Buck work in it? That's the only way I could find 00-Buck.
2: Should I pull the choke out?
3: The manual doesn't even say choke specific type for the #...It's an Accu-Mag 750...that # isn't in the manual.
4: The barrel is ported, will removing the choke tube cause bb's to come out the holes? (Until I get the shorter barrel of course.)
5: Is it safe to shoot "Magnum" shells? the gun chambers 2.77", 3", and 3.5" shells.
That's all I can think of for now, thank you for your time!
