AR trigger

Postby Bearcatrp on Tue Oct 07, 2025 11:44 am

Made the mistake of combining my AR15 and AR10 trigger parts. I know the hammer is different from what I read so far. What else do I need to look for? Should I lay them all out and go with the larger of the 2? Thanks

Hi -- I consider the fire control group to be essentially interchangeable between the AR15 platform and the AR10.

Obviously, if you have a pile to hammers, triggers, springs and sears you should strive to combine them consistent with how they were originally grouped. Sometimes you can tell by the finish (ENC coating, etc.).

People will from time to time consider that a FCG with a larger hammer is appropriate for the AR10 platform (for more whack), but I haven't had a problem without one.

Thanks. I’ll separate and compare. About all I can do.

From Geissele:
Super Semi-Automatic Enhanced® (SSA-E®) Trigger Specification
PLATFORM: AR15/AR10

They are exactly the same trigger for both platforms. I expect some custom shops make a specific AR10 trigger, but you would not (I hope) mix those components in your parts box.

As warriac said, I would not mix coated with standard finishes. There would probably be no problem, but why risk the unknown?

MNGuntalk has turned into a desert for good reason. Most often the site times out before it will load. When it does load the sign in function rarely works. Every other site I use fixes a problem promptly to work on my ipads. I suppose competent tech support is expensive. We need a sugar daddy to take over this operation.
