But according to the news cast, nobody was at fault. This must be one of the guns the brady bunch is always spouting off about. "Gun gets angry and shoots man at area gun show, news at 11"

Someone either A. had their booger hook on the bang switch, or B. wasn't careful enough with his firearm and surroundings. But then again, what do I know, I wasn't there. Maybe the gun did go off all by itself with absolutely no provocation. (kinda doubt it though :? )

I'm glad nobody was seriously injured.

Are you saying Glocks are bad tempered? Because if they just go around shooting people for no reason, I'm selling mine.

Well, it did hit another officer,' Minneapolis duty gun shoots St paul LEO'. Maybe there is a bit of tension there...

I am joking of course. I could be completely wrong but I thought the issued sidearm for the Minneapolis police is a Beretta 92. Correct me if I'm wrong.

MPD makes you buy your own, and if I remember correctly they authorize Beretta, Sig, and S&W.

That is what I have found.

I can make the MPLS police a good deal on holsters that cover the trigger guard

I believe MPLS requires them to use specific holsters and I also believe they must have a retention lock. Thus the only way the think could go off is to a the gun to come out of the holster and for something to hook the trigger at the same time. Sounds to me like he was playing around with the thing or did not have it in the holster in the first place.

Not surprising most of these guys don't know which end the bullets come out of yet alone how to shoot. I bet if this had been 'Guy Joe' he would have been taken off in cuffs and charged with something.

Nice to see the precident is set for ND's in MPLS, so now if it is an 'accident' it does not count.

Well, according to the MWCA cops are the only ones professional enough to carry a loaded gun at their shows...

+1, I'd like to steer clear of both holster and gun.

What would have happened if he were sitting back in the Handicap stall reading the paper and crackin one off? Could have flooded the place! :P

The CBS news video had a quick interview with a police officer who said (and I'm paraphrasing) "with the amount of equipment we carry around it's surprising this doesn't happen more often."

I find that funny how when a police officer has an accidental firearm discharge it's explained as police have too much equipment. When a permit holder has the same accident it's explained as the permit holder was being irresponsible by having a loaded gun there. Ah yes I love double standards.
