As for just a hair above your price range, I really want a Rohrbaugh. (I guess I'm trying to be more like Cobb on this one.)

As for Hi-Points, I ended up picking up one of their carbines in 9mm a few months back. Haven't even shot it yet. Although I didn't buy from them, I've heard good things about the Woodbury dealer that holds itself out as specializing in HP sales. I think they go by Polar Bear Ordnance.

I agree with others that for the ones I really want, $1000 bucks is a little short. For the price range you mention, I think I would go for either one of the HK P7's floating around right now, or a S&W Mdl 41.

Isn't .41 mag a bit hard to come by? :?

Given the price range of the OP, I already own all of the guns on my wish list.
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Well, my situation is the opposite. I've just given my fiance a budget (she can add to it whatever she wants), for her to buy whatever gun she likes.

She's leaning toward a Kimber Custom, dancing between the Eclipse and just the regular Custom. Fixed sights or Target she doesn't really care. But with a few extra mag's, a couple good holsters (for me also, I mean I can't just never carry the thing!), and maybe a double mag pouch or two, she should be on her way for right around $1000 I guess. Of course she might put some Hot Pink grips on it just to embarrass me, but I still might carry it once in a while.

I did sacrifice the smaller of my two Glocks to make this little transaction possible, but I feel the replacement piece will be just as enjoyable if not more.

Every few days I click on it, hoping the last post isn't "sold pending funds", or something like that.

I never could get into the slanted under barrel lug look. For me a .357 needs to be boxy. I don't know what it is.

Yes it's definitely different. I liked my GP100 because of the boxiness.

Oh and not that I don't want Becks to get it sold or anything.

Just for chits and giggles, I think Id like to have S & W model 29."Its a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world" "Do you feel lucky? well do ya punk? It'd be more of a conversation piece than a a carry/range gun. but not sure these days if that would even fall into the $1000 range. Im thinkin more like $1500

I had heard that even though they protrayed it as such, the gun he actualy used in the movie was a .41 magnum. Hope I did not ruin it for you, still good movies. :)

Agreed. S&W is making those again now, they call it their Classics series.

I think I have a way to get around the $1000 thing. You see the lower of an AR15 is technically the gun, not the internals or the upper. So I'd buy a few lowers in .223 and a one in .308, $1000 or so depending on the make.

Now finishing those rifles would take another 2-3K but we said accessories did not count.

I pulled this stunt with my current AR, told the wife the gun was under $200, she never asked about the trigger, barrel, upper, stock, scope, ect.
