Limit on purchasing hand guns?

I found some previous comments here a bit discouraging. I have purchased several guns at Mel's in the last year or so. Both handguns and long. They consistently matched an advertised price that I brought in. The service was courteous and efficient. He performed a complete field strip of four different handguns I was looking at to show some areas of interest I had asked about that online reviews never talk about. The salesman made me feel like I was his most important customer on my first purchase and they remembered me on my next stop.

My last four purchases have all been at Zero Tolerance in Willmar. He also was able to match prices that I had found and on one item where he could not (AR) he threw in a hard-case, some ammo and gave me a great price on silhouette targets. And he has some of the best ammo prices around.

So I would have to say my purchase experiences at both stores has been very pleasing. Much more so than trying to buy a S&W 686 at Gander MT. in St.Cloud. (I finally walked out and went to Sportsman's and purchased it there.) And even though I bought a gun at Sportsman's warehouse, it will most likely be the last. The last two sales people were crude and vulgar.

Maybe I'll try Scheel's next.

An employee at Bill's told me they won't sell anyone more than one gun in three days.

This is not a policy at Bill's. We will sell you as many guns as you have the money to cover. Who ever told you that obvoiusly has no idea what policy is. You can buy as many guns in Minnesota at one time as you would like. The only things that would prevent it would be lack of finances or NICS saying Delayed or Denied when we call in the check.

Never been to Zero Tolerance. I was only stating my experience at the shop in Spicer and it was not a blanket statement. IT maybe could have been taken that way I guess. My dad has had some good luck there, but my dad is also 49 years old. I may appear to be some young whipper snapper or something and then treated poorly(or below standard).

I have had outstanding service at the Sportmans warehouse. I can't think of the guys name, but he has longer blonde hair and a beard/gotee. Outstanding guy. The only guy to make my sister and wife comfortable to handle guns in from of him and he treated them with the utmost respect.

Again, this thread was not meant to bash any gun shop at all. I only stated my personal opinion after asking about multiple gun purchases. I go in there quite a bit...just haven't purchased a handgun/long gun.

Regarding Mells, he usually seems half decent but every local I know hates dealing with him, it seems that we keep going back for more though... I guess the hispanic guy knows a ton about bows and will spend time helping you select a bow including taking them out and shooting them.

Kyle at Zero Tol, both likes to bs which is cool, he's only a little full of bs from time to time, I know a few who got ripped off but also know others who get good deals. He always gives me decent deals on little stuff thats not labeled(price)(usually at what others are selling or a hair lower), I think its because he likes my bullpup.

Its good to hear that they both match prices. Are you talking about sale prices or regular prices?
