It's a little small, but Butch and Tom are friendly and once-in-a-while you'll find what you're looking for at a fair price. They are located out in St. Boni.

+1 On the small side but one of the most friendly shops I have been in.

I've seen this one mentioned in other threads, but not this one, so I'll throw it out there. Al's Gun Shop in Gem Lake. He's located on the north side of County Rd E, 1 block east of Hwy 61. Al is mostly into old antique and colectable guns but has a wide selection of new and used guns. If you're into the old stuff, like really old, it's worth a stop just to talk with Al.

I did not know this. So, using my state Corrections Officer ID would get me a better deal on a Glock? Hmm...

My first love is guitars and basses, and I've been buying and selling for over a decade. I'm used to getting deals and know what to look for. I'll routinely seek out deals and buy thinks at 60% off MSRP. Now that I've gotten into guns, I've realized that most firearms sell much closer to MSRP than guitars do. Heck, getting 30% off list seems like a ton.

So, if you walk into a store with a printout of an online shop for the gun you want, will any of them match? I've found that to work in *some* music shops. I was wondering if gun stores will do the same or if they'll tell you to take a flying leap.

I believes so because even EMT can buy guns there

anyways, I really came on here to add ahlmans. I don't know about price, but they sure have a knowledgable staff there. It is a little bit of a drive though, about as far as the Cabela's in Owatonna

If the MOA is a State Licensed Security Company, yes.

Well I guess I'm a shoe-in then. That Glock 17 is oh-so-close!!! Now, should I get the factory night sites or the "upgraded" Tru-Glo?

A couple I haven't seen mentioned here - I've bought a couple of good deals at Midwest Pawn in Anoka. They've dickered when it counted. Fair prices on new Glock's etc too. Small selection, go in the wintertime, the guys working the shop then are easier to deal with I think. Dean and Dale.

My LCS is H&H Guns and Art (!?) in Prescott. Yes, they are in WI but the owner has a FFL in MN too so anything there can be easily purchased without a transfer. SMALL shop Fair amount of handguns and a good variety of rifles, mostly hunting and vintage. I'm not sure if they are not very motivated or what but I've had a hard time getting anything done that was beyond pulling it off the shelf and giving them my credit card. I wanted to trade a nice Kimber on a FiveseveN and even after getting back with him a few times I couldn't get him to get me a trade value. I also told him I wanted the gun for sure, I would give him money down on it (the gun was not there, it was at a gun show). He said, no, he didn't want to complicate things and could not call the guy working the show to mark it sold. Guess what, I bought a MP15 elsewhere since he pretty much said I don't want your money.

I did buy an LCP on a whim there after that. I'll stop in and browse occasionally.

I wish Sportsman's didn't go away. Really good prices there IMO.

Bill's Gun Shop - Bought my AR there; a customer, a MPLS SWAT officer did a better job of selling it to me than Bill's staff. Didn't try to haggle

Koscielski's Guns & Ammo; bought my Sig 380 from him at a gun show, didnt haggle

Frontiersman, bought 2 Mosin Nagants there (haggled 2nd one), very good deals on both of them, I like that place a lot, they pretty much know me now

Cabelas - bought my 22 pistol, 22 rifle, Tikka T3 and a Mosin Nagant there...all super deals with sales, Cabelas card coupons etc.

Rest of my stuff is from gun shows or private sales...

I know this thread is two years old, but I find it has some good info...

Wondering how people's opinions have changed since this thread was last visited? I'm thinking I'm going to be in the market pretty soon here for a wedding present for myself...

There's a few places I typically go, but wouldn't mind expanding my horizons for the right place... If there's a CURRENT 'must visit' shop, I'd be more than happy to hear about it.

thanks guys! (and the rare gals)

I still frequent: Frontiersman, Bills, Al's, Joe's Sporting Goods, and Thunderjohn's home ;)

Within the past 2 years, Bull's Eye in Lake Elmo has had some management changes and moved to Woodbury.
I haven't been to the new location.

You aren't missing much. I am not sure I'll be back (and I live in Woodbury)
