Also introduced (stole these from Reddit, all credit to this guy http://www.reddit.com/r/guns/comments/1 ... rearm_and/):

A bill that gives signage prohibiting guns actual weight. First offense is a gross misdemeanor, second is a felony https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/bill.p ... n=0&y=2013

>10 round capacity magazine ban, no grandfathering https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/status ... titleword=

>7 round capacity magazine ban, no grandfathering https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bin/bldbill. ... ssion=ls88

And a few others, but these seem like the greatest offenders.

I'm fairly naive about MN politics. What are the chances of this stuff passing?

DFL controls both House and Senate, as well as the Governor's office.

The listed bill is a DFL bill.

Similar legislation passed in New York.

Dem controlled house.

Dem controlled senate

Dem governor.

All adds up to a liberal legislature and a liberal governor.

I'd say the odd of this passing are better than 50/50 even though it ought to be a non-starter in rural mn.

What's different here is no C&R exemption provision. Also no mention of NFA items.

Just another case of a grandstanding lib local legislature that is willing to exploit the Newtown tragedy and create laws that criminalize local law abiding citizens and does nothing to address the supposed problem.

Here's the letter I just wrote, and when I'm off work tonight, I'm calling with the same thing..........

As a law-abiding gun owner who respects the laws of this nation and the founding father's documents such as the constitution, I oppose any and/or all part or whole of the following documents because they only serve to limit myself and other law-abiding voters while doing nothing to hinder criminals who won't obey the law. You are making it harder for us and easier for them. Criminals don't vote, but I do, and I am a one-topic voter: Gun rights

Your vote and actions will affect mine and I vote.

The Brown Shirts are goosestepping in the halls of the Legislature, or even more appropriate, the Bolsheviks are trashing the Capitol building.

HF 241 AUTHORS:
Hausman DFL, Female, legislator, 1447 Chelmsford St, St. Paul 13 terms...................professional politican!
Hornstein, DFL, male, community organizer, 4344 Drew Ave So, Mpls 6 terms....................community organizer!
Simonson, DFL male, asst. fire chief, 3830 Decker Rd, Duluth, first term................ First termer, from Duluth ONE AND DONE
Davnie, DFL, male, financial educator, 2741 39th Ave So, Mpls, 7 terms...................professor
Slocum, DFL, female, teacher, 6700 Girard Ave S, Richfield 4 terms....................teacher

Hausman also authored HF 242, prohibition of large-capacity magazines. Possession is a felony after August 1, five years and /or $25,000.

Hausman and Simonson also authored HF 243, Large-capacity magazine (More than 7 rounds) crime established for the manufacture, transfer, or possession of ammunition feeding devices with the capacity to accept more than seven rounds or any conversion kit, part, or combination of parts. Possession is a felony after August 1, five years and /or $25,000.

These politicians are more than happy to make several hundred thousand Minnesota citizens and taxpayers,(we the people) FELONS come August 1, 2013.

Ya know there's no magazines that fit my Ruger Mark III 2245 or Springfield XDm that are less than 10 rounds. If this passes, my guns just became illegal.

Time to move to Alaska or somewhere free. I swear. Fight the good fight.... I emailed everyone I know, I emailed the a-hats in office, I'm calling after work, and I'm going to make it my personal mission to do so for the next 90 days every day.
