Doesn't this story just make your heart bleed for these poor Californians? Seems they are having hog problems. Too bad their Govt. is doing everything to eliminate one avenue they could generate some tax dollars by say selling licenses to a P. Dog hunter and allowing higher capacity mags etc.

As Andrew Myrick famously said: “Let Them Eat Grass” 8-)

Trying to get a handle on this...... pig poop is an ecological and disease threat, but people pooping on the sidewalks is OK ..................

California used to have cougar hunting.

The same number of cougars are still shot each year. Just instead of hunters paying for licensing and tags generating conservation dollars the government now pays to have them shot.

I’ve seen the damage the pigs do in Texas.

Hunting can do quite a bit to help.

Unfortunately, there are lots of folks who have no business hunting, so letting every Tom, Dick, and Elmer isn’t a good choice.

The folks making money on hunting also have to share some of the blame.

Unfortunately, California is full of unrealistic people, so I really doubt much is going to change. They don’t like killing, no matter what, why, or how.

In the distant past, we allowed pigs to roam, and then the family found them come fall and slaughtered them. Why didn’t we have issues in the 1800’s but do now?

Animal welfare laws and food safety laws.

In Texas, if they allowed feral swine to be sold as food, how fast do you think the numbers would shrink?

Well, technically we do.

If you have a felony record, nope.

If you are under a certain age, and haven’t had hunter safety, nope.

Every year you have someone accidentally shoot someone while hunting.

Every year I hear some jackwagon fire off a 30 round mag in a mag dump at a deer… that guy shouldn’t be hunting.

This is CA you are talking about.

Most of the citizens there, you hand them a gun and tell them to go hunting, just what do you think will happen?

Honestly, I don’t want to have government in charge of it, but given my fellow “sportsmen” in the field’s behavior, as a private landowner, I sure don’t want them on my property or shooting towards it.

Maybe something to work on. ;)
