Wouldn't work if you brought in any kind of targets. Shooting "targets of opportunity" such as dirt clods, tree stumps, and the like might get you a talking to and extra scrutiny after being noticed.

WMAs get trashed enough as it is, I wouldn't want more "junk" out there for any reason. There are some places such as Chengwatana that have informal shooting areas, I would prefer to see these used rather than WMAs and other places that get enough trashed dumped in them.

Almost all state forests are open to target shooting, Sand Dunes being one that I know is closed to shooting. Chengwatana is a popular (typically busy) spot. My favorite is a fantastic gravel pit in Solana state forest off Hwy 65, north of McGrath.

I've never applied any filters to the map, I just look for the light green land that is state forest, look at the legend.
