Jimmy C and I will be there a the Gopher on the ninth as well; we're still negotiating with the gals about their attendance. Lunch at W.A. Frost usually goes a long way to make things come out my way on deals like this.

WHO WAS YOUR INSTRUCTOR????

You do realize that you can go into Brit's WITH your hardware on you, regardless of the sign, and not be guilty of breaking any law?? The MPPA states that for you to break the law by entering a posted establishment, they have to figure out you have a gun on you, and THEN ask you to leave, and THEN you have to refuse. You have then committed a petty misdemeanor and have to pay a $25 ticket. So far as anybody knows, none of the 64,00 permit holders in Minnesota have EVER done that. Zero tickets for this offense have been issued.
I just picked on Brit's particularly because it is a posted establishment, and because it is so British it brings to mind the complete folly of the TOTAL handgun ban in England, plus the fact that London now has a higher per capita handgun assault rate than ANY US city. (Hope I got the proper wording on that right...) Plus a lot of other British silliness like jailing people for 10 years when career criminals break into their house for the 3rd or 4th time, and the criminal winds up getting shot, and later getting COMPENSATED by the British government for his disability and mental anguish.
BTW - when I'm in the area I'm down at The Local, which is an Irish joint, which doesn't have any STEENKENG signs, but then again I'm half Irish and a full bastard to boot. Generally, however, I'm at the Gopher, and there you can get verbally abused by George if he knows you have a permit and AREN'T carrying. Usually, you will be called some sort of phaggot to your face if you aren't locked and loaded. That's MY kind of bar!!
