I submitted for my permit last Friday (1/29/2010 @ 4:30) and received it (2/5/2010) in the mail!!!

I'm a Washington County resident - mine came in a similar timeframe. I wrote a nice thank you to the Sheriff last year -- always been impressed with him and his staff

I applied for my permit in Aug of 2007 from Ramsey County. I was quite surprised when it arrived in 7 days

One Sheriff bragged to me that he can do a computer check and print the permit in just 2 minutes. (He still thinks he needs the full $100 fess owever.)

I had a similar experience when I got my permit in 2006. I had it in the mail less than two weeks after I dropped off the application.
