Here are a few good ones from another forum I frequent:

I woke to my dogs barking...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...last night. It was around 1am and my Pits were going crazy so I grabbed the wife's XD9sc (because my XD45c is in the shop...) and my Inova LED light and went to the kitchen to peer out of the bay windows and there was a late model pick-up truck directly out front of my home. The marker lights were on but I could not see a driver in the truck.
Then I hear a cordless drill revving a few times. So I thought 'there's a guy trying to steal copper or something (my electrical box for the house is just outside the bay window) My company was hit for copper less than a year ago so that's what I'm thinking.
So I go out the 'front' door on the side of the house and because of the bushes I have out there, I was able to sneak up on the guy. I shined the light on him though I did not point my pistol directly at him and I was like WTH are you and WTH are you doing?
He's like 'Hey, man I'm sorry to wake you but I'm with COX cable and I'm working on this cable tower.'
So I look on the other side of the bush I was partially behind and sure enough, he had the cable thing all apart.
Holy Christ. This guy couldve been shot.
Mind you, I sleep naked (it's AZ and it's hot) and at this point I realize fully that I'm out in front of my house with a gun and I'm naked. So I go back inside and call COX on my cell and ask if indeed they have a subcontractor working on my house. The guy on the phone at COX was like 'Don't shoot him! He works for us.'
What kind of company has people without a company truck come to someones house and start messing with stuff in their yard at 1am in the morning???

Whew....that was close!

Here's another adventure, from the same poster:

My Walmart Adventure

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope this belongs here.

My wife and I just got back from Walmart. As we were looking for a spot, my wife, who is much more situationally aware than I am, saw some scumbag that she thought was breaking into a Caddy but she wasn't sure. I pulled into the next aisle and parked just across for him.
At this point I see him jimmy the door and reach inside, grab a purse and start walking off looking around. As he walks off I jump out and start running after him. My wife tells witnesses to call 911. I am right on this guy and I know that I'll catch him within 30-40 strides. He rounds a conversion van and when i got up to it I lost him temporarily. Then I see a beater back out two parking spaces next to me.
I run in back of it (stupid), slap the trunk with my hands and yelled for him to stop. He didn't. He nearly ran me over backing up. After I got out of the way I ran in front of the car. This time I had my shirt up over my XD. I had one hand on a now obvious pistol and the other hand making a stop gesture. He didn't. He damn near killed me. I also noticed that he had a female passenger as well. I was able to get a decent description and license plate which I passed on to the cops.
The owners finally come out of WallyWorld and we tell them what happened. They were very thankful that I tried to get the guy. The cops were cool too. I told the officer that I had CWP and that I wanted to draw down but didn't. He said of course that I did the right thing. I wanted to ask him if I did draw down on the guy If I would have been arrested but forgot to ask.
I'll tell ya, I was running as fast as I have in some time. If that guy kept running, I would've ground him into the parking lot.

That one was close, too! He was nearly killed!

Sorry...couldn't resist! :D

You would be reading those stories every month in the magazine if you were a member of the NRA :o

I'd join the NRA if they would stop sending me special offers and fliers.

Na ah. you still get a ton of crap from them. The Armed Citizen is one of the first things I read though.

You can also gift a membership to someone (gift... holidays... just an idea!)

They have a deal now to gift/join/renew for $25 instead of $35:

Jeez man, ANOTHER damn spam post? Come ON! You know, if you'd made an on topic and helpful comment your sig line link would have been included as well, right?

Back on topic... call their Customer service and complain. Please remove me from ALL the mailings and third party offers. I love the NRA but the spam, junk mail, and solicitation has me about ready to leave ... Ought to do it!

Seriously Grant - give it a rest. We're aware of your NRA membership offer. I took advantage of it earlier this morning in fact -- but quit spamming.

My apologies... I see what you're saying and I'm sorry for how it impacted the forum. I will not do that again. I would never have done it if I'd realized it would be seen as spam. Again, I apologize - can't say that enough.

Relevant to the OP and the above-given links, the NRA's link (http://www.nraila.org/ArmedCitizen/default.aspx) is dead (today) and comes back with:
"Page Not Found We're sorry. We couldn't find the page you're looking for. Please use the search form below."

Since July, I've consolidated the monthly Armed Citizen stories I get from the NRA at http://gunclasses.net/resources/links/nra-armed-citizen-archives/
I do not know if these are redundant of thearmedcitizen.com - it looks like some of the stories are the same, but what I took was directly from the NRA, so I expect there would be some differences.
