shipping FFL?

Postby scout on Tue Feb 09, 2010 8:11 am

So I bought a gun off gunbroker.com... I need to get it shipped to an FFL now, I thought I read of a place in Minnetonka that would do it for $10? anyone have their contact info? or info for another FFL in the metro that would do it for similar price?

Thanks,
Josh

Was it this one http://www.mnguntalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=12545&st=0&sk=t&sd=a?

Just asking because it would be really funny.

Really? A troll? I was just saying it would have been kind of humorous. Don't take yourself so seriously. Life is easier that way.

Anyways, ten dollars seems to be a pretty decent price for a transfer. I've had a guy that charged $5 but I don't have his contact info with me and it wouldn't be worth the drive from Brooklyn Center. Did you check with your closest gun shop?

Bills is the closest to me and they charge $25, just curious if there was any cheaper FFL's...

This is the list from Auction Arms... I am sure there are more of them but it is a start if any of the locations are convenient.

yeah, saw that list the other day... looks like closest/cheapest to me is the guy in Ham Lake for $10. I swear I thought I read/heard of a place/guy in the Minnetonka area that would do it for $10 also... hmm...

Just out of curiosity, did you check the BrokeGunner FFL Register? Ten FFLs within 10 miles of BC. Prices ranging from $20 to $50.

If you're bound and determined to only spend $10 for a transfer, here's a couple within 20 miles of BC:

There are cheaper, but Bill's probably has the most convenient hours and they know how to do these transfers well. Always been smooth as silk for me.

I have been told that Burnsville Pistol Range does transfers, but I don't remember the price.

yeah, I saw the Midwest Pawnbrokers (Anoka) after searching gunbroker.com's list... gonna give him a call here after they open.

some people say "whats your time worth?" I do lots of other errands over lunch (sometimes its just nice to get out of the office) so a 20-30mi round trip isn't a concern to me.

thanks for the info guys!

$25 at BPR

Thunderjohn does $20 and I bet you can talk him into meeting close to you, plus you'd be supporting a forum member's business, and you won't find a nicer guy.

Yeah, I just bought my new XD45c from John, great guy.

Savage is a hike though from the north metro and if that Midwest Pawnbrokers in Anoka can do it for half the price its definitely more convenient (and cheaper).
