Where to buy new guns at the best price?

Postby Tutmos on Thu Oct 25, 2007 6:41 pm

Hello, I'm about to purchase a couple guns and just noticed some of the local stores I stopped at expect to get full MSRP for guns. What's the best process to use now days for new gun purchases? Buy from a FFL locally? Buy from an online source and have it shipped to local FFL? It's been about 5 years since I've bought a gun so I have no clue what the best way to do it anymore is. I'm looking to pick up a Para Nite Hawg and a Bushmaster C15 M4. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm also curious where I can find a list of approved CC training companies in Scott county. The BCA doesn't provide a list anymore it seems. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum tutmos

Here is the link for the BCA list:

If you want to spend $ 50 more than anywhere else on firearms go to Gander. You even get a free cleaning.

I'll let the others chime in on good sources. ;)

When I bought my XD Joe's Sporting Goods had the lowest price.

And it was $50 less than Gander Mountain

Take a trip up to Gunstop and talk to Larry about the Bushmaster and I am sure that he would have one of the best prices in town on almost any gun.

It may be worth the drive up here for that. Cabelas AR Pricing is absolutely sky high even for used guns at this point.

Bills has reasonable pricing on AR's as well and if you buy one there you do gt a range token or something that does have a real value.

Bills also carries the full line of Para's as well I think.

Give gunbroker.com a "gander..." It's the eBay of the gun world. You'll still have to ship to a MN FFL, though. Plan to pay the transfer fees, state tax and shipping. Depending on the gun, I have come out considerably ahead a number of times.

And if you're shopping for an M&P or a used GLOCK check out Streicher's in Plymouth.

Also try Budsgunshop.com They seem to be pretty cheap on everything.

Gun shows have the most selection, the most competition and therefore the BEST prices.

All the Paras Bud's has: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/53

All the Bushys: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/60

Free shipping (although it's partially worked into the prices). Still hard to beat. Have them shipped to Burnsville Pistol Range. Bud's already has BPR's FFL on file so you don't have to mess with that. BPR charges $15.00 per transfer.

I just looked at Buds pricing on the two I'm looking for and it was just a TAD better than I was seeing in retail stores  I'm going to give a local vendor a chance to offer a better price first but otherwise Buds and BPR looks like a nice option. Thanks guys. That was a lot more help than I expected to get in 20 minutes. heh.
