Poll: What would you consider your pimary area of interest?

Postby Belgiboy on Fri Jul 30, 2010 11:01 am

I always considered this forum to be very handgun oriented but lately I'm not that sure anymore. I created this poll to check. Most of us probably dabble in more than one discipline of all that is shooting. As much as I love to shoot handguns or print tiny groups with a good rifle, upland bird hunting and trap shooting is the thing I do the most so my personal choice is shotguns. If you're into zombie hunting, think of your favorite tool for undead removal. Use the soft option only if you think your head will explode by making a distinction.

I've dabbled, but the majority of my time, and fun has been with handguns. Rifles are great, lots of fun, but my first love is the handgun.

I love shooting handguns --- no two ways about that. But the rifle is what really turns me on.

All kidding aside...

What about those of us who use firearms primarily for self-defense? Vs. hunting, target shooting, etc...if you would ask me to name my primary interest, I would say that's it, whether pistol, rifle, shotgun, or other.

I see your point. Am I to conclude that you don't have a stronger affinity for one than you have for the other because you think that they all have a their strong points when it comes to self-defense? Mind you, you are entitled to have a completely irrational reason to prefer the one option over the other. I'm the first to admit that I've bought firearms on the basis of looks alone, guilty and proud of it. You are holding a handgun in your profile pic... Why not a shotgun and/or rifle? Just asking. You are a self-defense instructor, right? Would you say that most of your business comes from teaching people about carrying a handgun? If yes, that could be a reason to put yourself in the handgun camp. One choice does not exclude ejoying any of the other options... that is why the USA is the best country to live in.

Handgun, rifle and then shotgun in that order. Used to be exact opposite in my younger hunt everything days.

I was going to say the same about the Ramones

I'm a better rifle shooter than hand gun, but I like the mechanisms of both and each have their finer qualities.

My primary area of interest has always been modern military weapons, but as I'm getting older I find I have a greater appreciation for other eras/styles of guns.
