What do you guys think? Just found out the wife is pregnant not too long ago, but she is letting me make one last purchase.
Proud to be a new dad 4/2011!!

Think of it this way: with a gun you don't have to take a picture of it--you can hang the real thing up over the fireplace.

You should get the camera, you won't regret it once the baby is born. Plus it's OK to point it at people in fact they expect it, I hope your model doesn't have a thumb safety. :?

Thanks for the input. Lol... Yeah I have 2 smaller cameras already, but this one would be the bigger nicer ones.

For about $75 less than the SX30IS, you can get a better superzoom camera in the form of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ40. Read the user reviews of both cameras on Amazon.com.
