MidwayUSA--Wow!

Postby cmj685 on Thu Oct 28, 2010 2:53 pm

Ordered a batch of ammo from Midway on Monday (for a very reasonable price--would have been a steal had I used the coupons that I discovered five minutes after ordering!); ammo showed up Thursday. Holy cow that is fast!! These guys are good!

Just got some .224 Hornady and Sierra boolets along with a couple 20rd PMags from them myself. Ordered the 22nd, received yesterday. That was using the cheapest shipping method. They are good.

I like to order from them because they are so fast.

E-mail them a scan of your C&R license and you'll get "dealer prices", which on average is about 10% off most items.

When I watch their sponsored shows on TV and listen to Larry P., owner and CEO, I get the impression that he is an honest, straight-shooter. Have you found that to be the case? My orders have been very fast via cheapest method of shipment as well. I never mind spending money when it goes to a company that is prompt and dependable and stands behind their merchandise.

How do they compare to Cheaper Than Dirt, Shooters Supply, etc.?

Cheaper Than Dirt has crappy customer service. I don't give them business anymore.

I regularly order from Midway and Brownells over other places like Cheaperthandirt because it feels like you're dealing with people rather than companies.

YMMV

Yeah, my wife wants nothing to do with the hunting/shooting shows I watch on cable...that is until Larry comes on. She literally stops what she is doing and comes over to watch his commercial. She always says 'love ya Larry'. He must be a pretty good guy to win over the 'ol lady like that. On a side note, I have ordered from Midway several times and always had fantastic customer service and quick shipping. They are a top notch organization IMO.

That was my first order ever from Midway so I don't know much about the company itself in terms of customer service. I can say that, even though I had never used them before since I prefer buying local if I can, Larry Potterfield, the owner of Midway, is justly famous in 2A circles for the incredible amount of philanthrophy he does to support 2A. You will find his name everywhere at any important 2A national event if you look. So the man has cred (is that the way we say it these days on da' street?) and really walks the walk.

I can't stand Larry. He always looks like he's got a fake happy look on his face and it makes him show badly.

Midway didn't earn the Malcolm Bainbridge National Quality Award for nothin'.

I love their website.

I love the rounding of your order to the next highest dollar to donate the change to the NRA.

I love the speed of their delivery.

They are good.

Larry seems like a good guy; honest, friendly, sincere. But there is a little glimmer of dork in him that I see. I think it's just his goofy smile.
