Slip 2000 EWL and MPro7 experiences?

Postby dsm2nr on Mon Apr 11, 2011 5:44 pm

I tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything.

I've heard good things about EWL and saw it at Gunstop. I picked up a bottle today with MPro7 cleaner, another product I havent used.

I just used both on my ar15 and the mpro cleans quickly and easily. The EWL feels way better in my AR15 than breakfree clp. But I still haven't shot it yet, will do tomorrow.

Anyone else used either of these?

I've been using M-Pro products for years. They work fine for me, and I like the non-toxic idea.

I have used all of the Slip products, and have nothing but good things to say about them.

I just ordered some of this -

I have read good things about it in a few other articles and it is also mentioned in on of Brownell's GunTec questions/answers.

MPro products have worked for me, but I am not 100 % sold on their cleaners. FP-10 has been very good and I also like Tetra products and have been using the Tetra for years on my firearms. I know some that dislike the Tetra because of it's smell, but it works very will for me, especially on 1911 slides.

I swear by MPro7. Their original cleaner was "eh" at cleaning barrels, but the new bore gel is scary good.

No, not that guy. Or that other one either.

I've also had good luck with Mpro7 since it came out. Cleans well with no odor. Need to be sure to oil thoroughly since it is a good degreaser. I've also recently tried Gunzilla and cleans well (better than CLP) if you want a one step cleaner/lubricant. Light odor. Even worked well for cleaning off residual cosmoline. Still using CLP in the ARs as a lube. The other guns get whatever is on the shelf.

one step cleaner/lubricant.

Nothing personal, but I have always questioned a statement that says a product is a cleaner & a lubricant. Not saying that a product can not do a bit of each, just like WD-40, a good cleaner in many cases, does a bit of lubricating, but is poor at doing so.

I guess the cheap way to go would be with #1 or #2 diesel, it does have both a cleaning and lubricating property. :|

Just get an AK. You clean it by tying it to the back of your car and dragging it around dirt roads for a few miles. You lube it by doing that on rainy days.

I have seen guns lubed with EWL that have done things that would blow your mind. EAG Tactical has several T&E BCM ARs with 15,000+ rounds through them without cleaning. They keep working reliably without stoppage due to Pat and Mike at EAG using Slip2000 EWL. I use Slip2000 products exclusively because I know they work.
