completely ATF approved, its basically a stock that slides with the inertia of the gun, making bump firing safe and controllable, allowing you to aim down your sights. pretty cool, cheap way to make your AR-15 basically fully auto without a class 3.

That's something in the gray area.

I'd just pull the trigger faster, rather than buy some goofy device.

It's much more fun to bump on your hip using your belt loop, anyway.

Or quit using fakes and play with the real deal?

I prefer lighting $20 bills on fire.

And then shooting my semi with (mostly) aimed shots.

I guess. Kind-of a moot point in MN.

I've never had the burning desire to own a FA firearm.

It is a felony, with certain limited exceptions, to own,
possess, or operate a machine gun, short-barreled shotgun,
trigger activator, or machine gun conversion kit. The
maximum penalty for this offense is five years imprisonment
and/or a $10,000 fine. Minn. Stat. § 609.67

My guess is they would not have to stretch too far to make that fall under the above statute.

A friend of mine has one of these on his 9mm sport utility rifle, kind cool and works extremely well. He has a letter from the ATF that defines this option and keeps a copy in the case with this AR to show to any that question him about it.

You mean they actually got around the MN trigger operator statute

If you want full auto, buy a full auto. C&R class III is available, and legal in MN. Usually the C&R eligible assault rifles are about $10-20K, unless you NEED the StG 44. Subguns are a bit less, belt feds a bit more. You just won't get anything newer than early 60's vintage.

They are pretty expensive to feed too.

I just cant get why anyone wants to make a bump-fire gun, especially deliberately.

If you are referring this to me, I mean nothing. I am saying that a friend of mine has one of these and showed me a copy of the letter that he carry's in the hard case with the AR it is on. I just glanced at the letter and didn't analyze it much further. This guy is about straight & honest as they come, a large acreage farmer and has an FFL to make it easier for him to play with more toys. 8-)

Because they want to play and maybe do not have the money that other have to play in the class III arena.

The Akins Accelerator was legal, came with a BATF letter of approval, and worked great. Nine months later it was illegal and owners had to destroy their very expensive stocks or face a felony. I wouldn't suggest anyone get one of these until they've been out for at least five years or more.

Bingo... ATF letter does not save you from this.
