I hunt zone 200 (SW MInnesota) which is shotgun only and take a pair of Remington 870's along for the trip, one for posting in a stand/ground blind or purposeful cover and the other when I'm pushing/stalking (a majority of the time). I realize you could swap barrels and use one gun but I also like having a backup available should one or the other malfunction while I'm out for the week.. and it's not like 870's are horribly expensive.
Remington 870 Express Magnum with 20" rifled barrel and 2 3/4" Brenekke KO Sabot Slugs while posting... (wood stock, sling, Weaver side saddle scope mount) - I've got a Weaver 2-4.5x scope as an option but usually stick with irons and use my Leopuld laser rangefinder to ID landmarks out to 150 yards to plan for longer shots.
Remington 870 Express with 20" smoothbore barrel + rifle sights (tuned for light weight, synthetic stock, 5 round magazine & supercel recoild pad, no sling) with a few different rifled slug options depending on what's cheap and has proven to put a hole where I expect it will on paper before venturing out.
