ccw intoxicated on private property

Postby jake on Tue Jun 14, 2011 7:49 pm

There's an upcoming event with target shooting, four wheelers and beer. My question is if I have a permit to carry and Im on private property with a hand gun, can I legally drink?

The legal limit is .04 for carry.

No Hunting while Intoxicated
(Gross Misdemeanor)
It is a gross misdemeanor to take wild animals with a firearm
while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled
substance. A person who is convicted of this offense is
ineligible to have a firearms hunting license for five years.
Minn. Stat. §§ 97B.065; 97A.421

Sounds like alcohol and guns are staple in your activities, any other gun/alcohol related questions before you have a negligent discharge?

With all due respect, that is a recipe for disaster. You do not even have to simmer it. IMHO either drink, drive, or shoot. They should never be done in any combination of two or all three.

Now for the grand-daddy of them all: Who was your instructor? :rotf:

That's profiling.

hahaha so hanging off the side of a four wheeler while shooting a .45, like in western movies, intoxicated, in a crowded area is a bad idea? Yeah I think it is.

Looks like we've found another good reason for carrying with an empty chamber, eh?
