7 yard bill drill all As 2.66 time with .15 split times. That's the best I could muster

This thread is full of win.

I never knew there were walking, talking mini-guns among us.....

in competition, that time difference is a huge deal.

Say you were shooting a larger match like Area 3, a .30 split will cost you over 52 seconds in a match. 52 seconds could cost you 20% of match points. 20% of match points IS the difference between winning and losing.

So for competition, I will sleep a little better if I can split faster than .30 :)

Nice times Matt are those splits on targets or just shooting.

I'd bet on targets.
Once your splits get under .2 then you start workin on target transitions, because that's your next time waster.
Otherwise you can see .12 split, .8 split, .12 split, and be losing just as much time, which is why being smooth is being fast.

so here is an idea for everyone who has either posted here or watched this thread.

On July 9th, SCAPSA will have it's annual points match. there will be 6 stages and over 150 rounds for that. I will have some close hoser type targets and some long range (35 yard) targets. stages will be big and challenging but mostly fun to shoot.

After the match there is a Man vs. man competition with handicaps for class. It is a cash payout.

so instead of all of this talking, lets get to the range and really see what our splits are.

Intriguing idea.....

Farmer,

the good thing about the man vs.man is that it is only $10. Surely you can round up $10 and come test your splits and draws?

Yop, I could.

But I also have to buy ammo, gas to get there and back.

And I am looking at an undetermined amount of time, like 2 months or more with no income. To include NOT being able to collect unemployment like the other 30,000 state employees.

I know what my financial outlook is for 60 days. And it's not nice on the other end.

Come September I would be more apt to jump on this.

If I did the math correctly , .06 splits ~= 17 Rounds per SECOND ~= 1000 Rounds Per MINUTE. That's between the Glock 18 at 1300 RPM and the M16 at 800 RPM.

DAMN that would be fast!

It strikes me that a cheap and easy way to do it would be a continual digital recording wiht a timer. start, hit the timer, shoot, review timer for camera. I know my splits are nowhere near .16 let alone .06 but I forgot to check them last night. Right now I'm more focused on accuracy as I can't miss fast enough to win (which is obvious from my scores)
