That situation would probably have been better had that woman kept her mouth shut. I couldn't watch the whole thing, every time she opened her mouth I wanted to stuff a dirty gym sock in it.

Seemed pretty typical to me. :?

"just change the law" What is she promoting.

This is why open carrying is not a good idea in most big cities. You can do it just fine in Phoenix and the desert southwest. Promoting the right to carry is great, doing in a manner where you end up emptying the places you visit is counter productive. :shameonyou: Obviously, it works at the Gopher Bar events, but I wouldn't try it downtown Minneapolis unless you "wrote the book". People need to use the brain they were born with and have common sense about how to do it with tact.

Personally, I would never open carry in populated areas. It is just a shoot me first poster.

Cite a source? :D

It's a common argument, just like opposite saying that an OC'd gun will scare off a potential attack. Neither have much basis in proven history.

Not getting into a big, should we/ shouldn't we...

My big point is IF you do, this is the way to do it wrong.

I rarely open carry - but one place I do is at a local gun club.

I was running the checkin / register a few weeks ago when someone totally freaked out that I would dare arm myself while working at a gun club (like most of the range officers that day)

That was an entertaining, but very polite, conversation - at least from my end.

Yep. I'm not going there. We don't need a big argument type of topic. People know this viewpoint and can site many examples. Just keep the big picture in mind. 10% are pro gun, 10% are antigun. Don't sway the other 80% in the wrong direction.

Wouldn't have been the first time.

from About.com:

The verb cite means to mention or quote as an authority or example. The noun sight refers to something that is seen or the power or process of seeing. The noun site means a particular place.
Examples:
* This style guide explains how to cite sources in a term paper.
* "The sight of the stars makes me dream." (Vincent Van Gogh)
* I'm still looking for a good quotations site on the web.
