Depends on the "program". If it's "
stop, drop, roll, and run away screaming", then it probly wouldn't do nothin'.
#1 "
don't point it" ...
BROKEN!#2 "
finger off the trigger" ...
BROKEN!It's of course, very sad, for the families involved. But to call this an "
accident" is highly inappropriate! They were ****in' around with REAL guns ... this is definitely a likely result!
Every once in a while, at the range, I gotta tell a grown man "
you pointed your gun at me ... keep it pointed downrange" ... 'cause somehow, somewhere, they picked up the habit of turnin' the thing sideways, to unload/reload it ... I even see 'em do it with revolvers. And most of the time, I get a disgusted look, fer my trouble ... no doubt, 'cause the gun's "unloaded".
I've seen a carry class "pass" the "shooting test" ... 6 - 7 hot guns, at once (
to save time, no doubt) ... noobs pointin' guns sideways like it was free. And it was ... the "instructors" didn't say **** 'bout it ... let alone, "fail" 'em! ... probly not good fer business!
None of these kids ... or adults ... are learnin' a ****in' thing 'bout handling a pistol! ... EVER! I've said it 'fore ... even in "hunter's safety", the slide fer "finger outside the trigger-guard" is quite a ways ... days, IIRC ... from "treat it like it's loaded" and "don't point it".
#3 "
know your target, and what's behind it" kid died several years ago camping with friends ... hide-n-seek ... hid behind a target, while the shooters were on break ... shooters came off break!
Damn shame!
