American Guns - Discovery Channel

Postby goatroper on Sun Oct 09, 2011 9:16 pm

Since a thread was posted and folks have started talking about the older show, Sons of Guns, I was wondering
if any one thinks this will be any better.

Seems to be the same old drill as all the other shows of this type, but still plan to have a look.

Some parts of the show look a lot better than than Sons of Guns.

The idea of a person building a gun from a blank chunk of metal, is better than a bunch of guys adding make shift parts to a gun the didnt create in the first place. oh ya.. Don't forget this show has to have a bit of hypothetical eye candy. It couldn't possibly be worse than the Rock eating troll they have on sons of guns. So I'm betting this is going to have a better technical aspect, and improvement of the erotic nature we all look for in gun shows.....

The worst part of these "reality" shows is they are reality shows. And when it gets popular they start trying to be actors, or add some kind of sad or fake drama. Pass.

Check out the pictures #11 says it all...."Although Rich loves the legend of the Single Action Army Colt, nothing beats the Browning .45 for classic semi-auto." Must be a one of a kind Browning :rotf:

But John Moses Browning did design the 1911 and that is what appears to be pictured in #11.

Um yeah...sure. "Reality" shows are NOT real...not by a long shot. The damn things are all scripted and edited like crazy to show what the directors want to show. The only "real" thing about them is the yahoos doing the acting...not professional actors. Fake drama? Yep, you got that right!!! If they can't find anything, the directors will make crap up! That said, I do watch a few of them, but not many. :)

It's about guns, I will watch it. What more can one say? At least it is not Dancing with the stars or glee. ;)

Looks like a Colt to me. My point, never seen a 1911 that says made by Browning on it. (yes they make a 1911-22 now, but no big boy calibers)

Looks like a John Moses Browning design to me. Yes it could be a Colt or maybe a Remington or even one that is custom made by Wyatt himself, off of the Browning design. ;)

DVRd the show, and just watched it.
What a joke. Will watch no more.
Something also smelled fishy about this place. Something other than everything scripted. Such as I didn't feel like these were upstanding people.
I'm bored  so I did a little googling and came up with a forum that had quite a bit of stuff about this guy and his shop.
I see that the posts are from 2009, so I figure that nobody had an axe to grind about this place being on TV.
Hear is the link for a pretty interesting read.
