WTB missing Blackhawk

Postby ReturnTheBKH36 on Wed Nov 30, 2011 10:11 pm

1965 Ruger Blackhawk .357 6 1/2" barrel SN 64278 Blue with Walnut. This gun was stolen from my father-in-law, a Vietnam Veteran who is now deceased. He purchased it directly from Ruger just prior to his deployment overseas. I believe it is still out there and will find its way back to us. Police failed to FILE the report when we reported it 3 years ago, this error is being corrected but we lost 3 years so this gun could have changed hands several times! Not interested in who took it, who has it, just want it back. Please keep watch with me and honor my father-in-law by helping us bring it home.

Stolen in the Mankato area?

Checked serial logs at both Bill's locations, found nothing. Good luck in your quest!

Stolen in Eagle Lake MN, which is very near Mankato (as you know but others maybe don't). Thanks for checking! I will need the luck I'm afraid!

I have a class with more than three Eagle Lake Police Officers next Monday and Wednesday night, anything you'd like me to share?

Chief W is aware of the situation, he spoke me a bit yesterday and assured me he would file it with NCIC. I haven't gotten confirmation it was actually filed yet, will follow up if I don't hear back tomorrow. I don't want to be all over them, I know they are busy. The officer who originally took the report no longer works there. I tried contacting our local ATF office today and strangely it kept routing me to the Washington office. They just referred me back to the ELPD so I will practice patience.

As far as "confirmation" goes....how can a civilian know it gets filed? Do you take their word for it or is there something you can ask for that would say it was entered? I'm naive about these things.

not that i would associate myself with a shady person of that nature, but if i see/hear/find anything, i'll be sure to let you know.

Good! Hope the gun isn't too beat up, but at least it's yours again.

Someone used a Blackhawk in a crime?? We're they sticking up a saddle shop, or a backwoods moonshine distillery?
Happy to hear you recovered a family heirloom!!
