Any other Eddie Eagle type programs out there?

Postby Stradawhovious on Thu Dec 01, 2011 11:43 am

The younger child has shown an interest in shooting after seeing myself and his brother go to the range. His Mom and I are pretty firm in our belief that he needs to have some sort of FAS instruction before starting. I thought it would be fun to get a DVD or Book program like Eddie eagle for him as a Christmas gift, and have us go through it as a family with him.... but haven't been able to find one. I've been on the NRA website, and the Eddie Eagle materials seem to only be available to teachers, and even then only as a bulk package.

Anyone have any suggestions? Unfortunately, the clock is ticking, and my procrastionation isn't helping.

A friend asked me the same question yesterday and looked and didn’t come up with anything either. The only thing I could come up with was a class that they could go to. The father in this case needs handgun training 101 just like the kid.

Thanks, but I'm not taking my 9 year old son to sealed mindset. :| He's also not going to be introduced to shooting handguns for quite a while.

(what is it that makes me think this post is a shill/spam advertisement? :hmm: )

I won't Thanks for the offer though!

I did what tt3 said, and contacted the NRA. Within 15 minutes they responded saying they dropped all the lesson materials, books, dvds, stickers, coins etc in the mail free of charge. :yippee:

The NRA has always been the best in Youth Firearm Safety.

They pretty much wrote the book on it.

Glad to see that they came through for you and your Child.

Merry Christmas.

I had been looking to start my little brother on firearms safety as well, glad i found this post and put in a message to NRA as well. thanks all for the advice in how to get the materials.
