So, I don't know about those of you who've lived "powder and ball" since the dawn of time -- but I was a little later to the party than most when it comes to learning about all the different aspects of shooting. I was a "Fudd" until I was 30 (I blame Dad, no offense). The vast wealth of information on the Intarweb aside, I've discovered that I've personally learned the most when I've had a chance to see it LIVE...the whole hammering on a Mosin thing with Shippy aside...although that taught me about removing front sights...
With that in mind, I'd like to gauge interest in starting up a monthly in-person info session on a variety of topics. For example:
January: 1911's
February: Reloading
March: C&R Licensing
April: Revolvers
May: AR Platform
June: Law and Order, etc etc etc
Nothing terribly organized other than a meeting room at a local library (policies permitting) or other venue, a speaker for a period of time, and a question and answer session. It would be a good opportunity to fill in that missing knowledge in some folks minds, and it would be free - unless everyone wants refreshments.
Figure an hour on a weeknight once a month, or bi-monthly would be enough.
Thoughts?
