Have you guys run into this before? Not cancelled, nor denied, but delayed. What can I expect to happen?

That's strange considering the ATF specifically says to complete the transaction if no reply is received.

If a firearms retailer does not get a response back within three business days you can pick up your firearm. The three days do not include Sat, Sun or Federal holidays.

There is a time frame in which NICS is supposed to tell the shop whether it's approved or denied after a delay, but I don't remember if it's 24 hours or some other period. The shop should have taken your phone number to call you with an update.
