That is what I saw too...so what as of that date we have to obey signs? It doesn't matter if we are personnally told to leave anymore?

I see it's not a tough penalty being a petty misdomeaner, but, it does change EVERYTHING they taught in the carry classes in 2007

Used to ignore signs, might not be the way to go anymore, huh? ;)

Then the state has not updated the revisor yet.

Last changes posted to the law were 2009

They got caught between a rock and a hard place -- mainly that the BCA's website is confusing...

From Gary Slider, co-owner Handgunlaw.us:

I was talking about states posting incorrect info. Got an email from someone in Minnesota and went to a chat forum there. Found a thread about signs. There was one post about how much of the info the BCA (Official Firearms Site for state of MN) FAQ's was off base. I started looking at what they had and what the law says and they really stretch the law. They were even contacted about it and the reply was it is correct. Some of it is and some of it is really worded very poorly to make people think they can't carry in some places when the can legally.

Which puts Handgunlaw.us between a rock and a hard place. I have to put on a states page what the state is saying. I can't just put on there that they are full of it and don't pay any attention to it. I have to go with what the state puts out. MN Is not the only state that is stretching things.

Nothing to see here. Continue swimming.

When do laws go into effect? 7/15/11 is after that date, isnt it? So does that mean in July there are changes blownin in?

So the state hasn't updated the site since 2009? Think about what you just typed.

Revisor shows the last change to the law was 2009. You can follow the link at the very bottom for the changes to the statute.

Any changes in july 2011 would be someones interpretation at BCA. Not law.
