OK, I know this may not sound like Gun Related Topic, but it is, so bear with me.
In our FCSA 1000 yard competitions, we have shooters on the Line and "pullers" in the Pits.
After 2 relays we switch roles, and transport back from Pits to Line, and back to Pits.
We have serious communication issues sometimes and I am looking for a better method for communication.
Cell phones do not work, no signal in area.
CB Radios do not work.
Handheld inexpensive 2-10 mile radios do not work very well, if at all.
Police or Emergency FM radios work OK, but are expensive, and need recharging daily.
I need a 2-way sound system with Receive & Transmit capabilities on each end.
Sound system such that all individuals can hear range instructions and safety commands, with ear protection in place.
Most shooters use "electronic ear protection" that stops noise over 85 db, but allow hearing commands.
Electrical power is not available at either location, unless I use a battery and inverter, or a generator, of which I have both.
A landline is not practical to install.
I think, but don't know, that an antennae is required at both locations, especially to get reception out of, or into, the steel and concrete lined pit walls, which are below ground level.
Any help would be much appreciated.
