AVOID THESE COMPANIES AT ALL COSTS!!

I ordered my gun from Midwest 9 days ago. When I ordered it was in stock and after I placed my order it was then listed on the website as out of stock. So I decided to call them and see if I got the last one or if it is out of stock and ask for a refund if it is. Tried them 3 times in one day every single time waiting for the next available rep for 10 minutes before I hung up. I then emailed the company with no response from anyone at all in two days. Finally I go on their Facebook page and put a message saying I played a fairly large $ order with them and can't get in touch with anyone at all. The next day I get a phone call from them and all the lady can do is tell me "It looks like one is allocated for you so I'd guess it was in stock and you got the last one." Ok so I decide to wait a couple more days and see if my order status changed and it was was still the same. I place a call to them today during my lunch break hoping to talk to the lady I did the other day because she gave me her direct extension. NOPE they have closed the phone line to customers "To stream line their process during this busy time." What a friggin crock of poopoo! So here I am 9 days later and I just want my rifle or my money back. They had a good price on a gun that was out of stock everywhere else except Gunbroker otherwise I would just cancel all together. Beware of these companies unless you wanna have zero customer service and a hell of a time getting in touch with anything human at this company. I'll update this as this crock of poo poo goes on!

Edit: Minutes after posting this they emailed me saying that since they will not be able to have to order shipped out by Wednesday which is the 10 days and the deadline I set. Why the hell would it take more than 10 days to ship if it was in stock or if it wasn't in stock why wasn't I told this when I talked to them last week? Makes me so upset and I hope no one else on here has to deal with these companies.

Just curious, which gun were you looking for?

I was trying to get a Rem 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD .308 and everyone was out of stock at the time. Buds got them in stock but I had to join their VIP club to be able to buy one right away. Still came in $10 cheaper than the hack company I tried at first.

Yeah I actually got my money back already which amazes me! If the gun would have been in stock at other places I would have never ordered from this place. If I wasn't worried about not being able to get my hands on one for awhile (FFL buddy said he couldn't find it anywhere) I would've taken the time to read reviews of the company.

TGS does business under a whole bunch of names, all of which have been crooked at one time or another. A former member here had his card number stolen from them.

TGSCOM sells through a whole load of sites. I don't think they have much; they get it once they get your $, so they're kind of a middleman. There are high-end watch companies that do business like this as well. As long as they actually HAVE a confirmed source for the product, I don't care if they do this.

I was gonna wait until my order was delivered but I have an order pending with TGSCOM. I placed it at 6 PM last Friday. It hit my CC as pending right away, which usually happens in mail order cases. I got an email a few hours later that evening showing the order in pending status until they could verify the order with me via email or on the phone.

On Monday a lady called me and I verified the order. As soon as I hung up the order went from pending to processing. She told me that they get the guns from their suppliers and 18 of this particular item were available. I was curious since it is a limited issue and dates back several years. (I'll let you know what it is when I get it.) They had Hoffy's listed as an FFL but I had Hoffy's fax their FFL to them anyway. They confirmed receipt of it, and Hoffy's should have the gun in 7-10 days. Other than bad reviews, I have no reason to think anything is amiss in this process. Are they gonna keep my $ and not ship? I'll charge them back through VISA if they do, but honestly I don't see anything wrong with my deal so far.

As far as charging the CC before shipment, Stainless Tumbling Media charged me on 3-1 for my tumbler and it just shipped today.

I wouldn't have ordered a gun this way through any internet source, frankly, but they were the only ones who could get it.

Stay tooned. I will post as developments occur.

I've had my CC # and debit card # stolen before. Now I don't have a debit card anymore. My CC was stolen again a couple of weeks ago. I do not use it at restaurants or gas stations. I use it only at places I know and trust, like my friendly local GS. The fraud dept actually called me noting suspicious charges. They said that hackers use random # generators and place little orders with itunes and the like to check validity of a #.

It's not always possible to tell how the CC $ was taken. I check my balance on my CC and checking acct more than once a day. I am not paranoid, but I am suspicious. But I can't live in a hole either.

When you get two hundred gun guys all saying they got CC frauded and the common denominator was shopping at TGS affiliated companies within a week of it happening the weak link kind of stands out.

I gave up on carryforum.com because of being crapped on like this. And now this one. Maybe I'll see folks at the range, maybe not.

Whatever, I no longer give a damn.

I had my CC # stolen the last time I did business with bud's. They sent out an alert much after the fact. To add insult to injury they misrepresented the gun they sent to me, and when I called them on it they essentially said tough sleddin; you can't return stuff once it's transferred to yo...as I said, it was the last time I dealt with buds.

That sucks big time about your card! But it does clearly state in their terms that once the gun is transfered from your FFL to you there are no returns or exchanges.

Yeah, I just purchased an item through Bud's. It ended up working out in the end, I got the gun I ordered for the price I paid. But I got real worked up during the whole process because like in the OP when I bought my gun it went to OUT OF STOCK. But unlike the OP, the gun became available again, and then went out of stock again, and then became available again, and then went out of stock again, before I got a single status update. All I had to go on was the very night I ordered (a sunday night) they charged my credit card and sent me a generic "order received" e-mail. I didn't get an actual status update until around noon on the 8th business day when they updated that my gun was sent to the shipping department. After that I had to wait another 2 full business days while it sat "in the shipping department" before the gun was actually put on a truck and shipped out from their building. Not a big deal, except all the waiting with not a single update for 8 business days while they kept selling out and re-stocking my gun, and the fact that Bud's stated in my "order received" e-mail on the very first night that my order would ship "within 3-7 business days." All I really wanted was someone to send me an e-mail saying, "hey sorry we're really swamped here, don't expect it to ship around the 3-business-day mark it'll be more on the 7-business-day realm of things." But like I said, in the end everything worked out.
