Can very easily do snow camo with either stencils or "hand drawn" with the airbrush. Just depends how crazy you want to go with it. I'll be doing an AK based rifle in a winter camo scheme in the next month or two.

I have a dedicated blasting cabinet, paint booth and firearm specific curing oven to provide the best finishes possible. :)

Well, I thought it would be fairly obvious, but if you need me to simplify it a bit for you, I'd be happy to.

I'm just trying a couple different solutions to see if I can find a way to lighten the color, in order to apply a dye. If it works, great, if not, oh well - at least I can say I tried.

How won't it end well? I'm using a magazine base plate... I think I can take the $1 hit if it gets ruined and I have to replace it.

Good idea! The bleach shouldnt degrade the strength of the polymer should it?
Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I wouldn't think so -- They are stored in plastic bottles after all. But, that's why I'm just testing it on a small scrap piece of polymer. We'll see what happens.

Bleach is known to have adverse effects on a number of polymers and plastics. I highly doubt you'll find any chemical that will lighten the pigment color without destroying or damaging the plastic. Don't let my cynicism stop you from trying though!

That's true but different plastics have different chemical resistance. For example compare Nylon Type 6/6 vs Polypropylene.

Glad you aren't experimenting on an entire frame.

I'd also like a quote for an all OD green glock.

On a side note I have dyed two p-mags. One green and on purple. It is very easy, but the one thing I learned is go easy on the dye cause you can always add more as you go to get the shade you want.

Well I can do whatever you may have in mind pal. If you want to do it sooner, we can try and just set a date that I can do it in a day or two.

Recoil is the new Tacticool/lifestyle magazine. I have oogled it a few times at Barnes and Noble, nothing you don't get here on the interwebs for free if you know where to look.
