I would really like to get the Browning replica '86.
I see that the prices for the replica 71's and '86 are around $1700.00.

An original Model 71 is selling realistically for around $2000.00, and the good old original '86 is through the roof in price.

Unbelievable pricing.

Or get a Turnbull replica '86. They list them for $2650 on their site a bit more if ya want to get her in .475 Turnbull and really wallop them out there!

I could get it for my Wife next month for our 25th Wedding Anniversary present.
On the other hand, I might just be on the receiving end of that "wallop" :badmood: :badmood:

Yeah, some of those prices are outrageous. I did manage to get a Browning replica 1886 in almost new shape for around $1100 off of Gunbrokers last year. It's pristine except that the gold bead got knocked off the front sight. Something that can be easily replaced. Yeah, original Winchester 1886's in good shape are insanely priced.

Mine as well :D , can't decide if I would opt for the upcharge for checkering though. I think it looks better with a clean stock but I could see the checkering being useful as well.

My Dad purchased my Model 71 when I was just a kid.
With this gun Dad taught me how to trim down stocks, and do an old fashioned hand rubbed finish.
It most likely hurt the price of this fine gun, but the rubbed finish looks much nicer than checkering, and I wouldn't sell it anyways.
I had a model 71 deluxe that I sold around 20 years ago for good money, but it didn't look half as nice as Dad's old gun.
