Guns/Collections

There are all kinds of gun people. Many here are known by what they like.
Does it happen to everyone eventually? Is it a matter of finding the right gun (drug), and then you are always looking for a fix?

I have a weakness (addiction) to Winchester 67's (cheap thankfully), and 1911's (most of which I can't afford).

What's yours?

I'm a big addict with Remington shotguns, own 2 of them. Rifles, I haven't formed a preference (yet?). Love 1911's don't own one yet.

I'm a huge fan of Sigs (I regret selling my 226, at least it has a good home) and just picked up a CZ 75 that I love.

In answer to the rest of your questions:

Yes
Yes
And oh god yes. A good fix is always wanted needed.

The one question I've wanted to ask does $$$= quality? Me personally I don't buy into that.

I'm a sucker for anything with a history. Especially if it can be traced. Mosins were my gateway drug.......

In addition to that, I enjoy the thrill of the hunt, and the fun of the barter. the aquisition and sale are just the half of it. :D

I love the military surplus stuff. Mosins, AK's, SKS's, PSL's, Uzi's, RPK's etc... I love the mixture of steel and old wood, and the smell of cosmoline!

I also have a fondness for the opposite end of the spectrum. The new evil, black, tactical stuff like AR's. I don't have much that's in between... Like I have zero modern hunting rifles, and one shotgun.

Any thing in the colors of "blued steel and walnut".... 22's are what I find myself smuggling into the house most often(usually cheap). I tend to lean towards anything made by browning. But as of late S&W wheel guns have been my crack cocaine. My name is justinvan.... I have been an addict for 10 years.... this is my first meeting.

We are all clearly suffering from the same sickness.
I've never been a shopper, but along with what Strad said, the hunt, the find, the kill is all part of it too.
And of course the research which with the internet sometimes turns up all kinds of interesting history on the seller and the gun.

I over purchased last week and when I couldn't put my carry gun in the safe that night because it simply would not fit, I realized that I have a problem.
So storage, storage is another issue by itself. I bought another safe yesterday and need to sell something, and the way that I'm carrying on you would think
that I was going to lose a limb or something.

ETA: YES! .22's of any kind especially the ones with pretty wood are very addicting.

I read that first sentence to Wrench and she said 'oh yea, you open the safe and you get that smell of old wood, cosmoline and old leather'.

Well bring your cosmo soaked stuff over here and let's meet! I gotta spot where we can sit down and talk about our addictions.... It's 100 yards long and requires earmuffs.

I've been 'outed' already so....My name is Wrench, and I love old military rifles.
My gateway drug was an SKS in 2004 or so...I've been hooked hard ever since. Finnish, Swedish, Swiss, US...some others that catch my eye. I'm a sucker for pretty wood and blued steel, history I can hold in my hands.
I also have a taste for C&R .22's-old Marlins, Remingtons.
Now that I have some more room in the safe, (thinking), hmmmmm...
Remember, gun control is not about guns, it's about control.

Budget guns. I've had some seriously good luck, too. Cheap, probably has a bad (or mediocre) reputation, yet always goes bang for me. Sigma's, my Pardner pump shotgun, old heavy Ruger and S&W semi's, and a CZ82 is next on my list.

However, my actual obsession is ComBloc guns. I just don't own any yet. I'm hoping getting that CZ82 will kickstart a new trend.

Scratch, that would be great. Aren't you the guy who built that IDPA type range on your property too?
