Long Range (Minimum 100 yards) shooting ranges near Mpls

No, but there is a waiting list. I think I was on it for 6 or 7 months before becoming a member.

I think I'm going to go for forest lake soon, the place is nice.

From what I understand you buy a share in the club, $5XX which is returned to you when you leave.

Can't believe I'm the only one who ever mentions the 500 YARD RANGE!!!! At Caribou Gun Club in Le Sueur. Nice having the range to myself most days though....

Wow, lots of good info. Thanks everyone.

I had looked at Forest Lake Sportsmen's Club a bit, that seems like the closest to me while still letting you get out to 400 yards.

Does anyone know how quickly one can become a member? I see the membership application online and the fee, which I will obviously have to send in, but is there lots of waiting? Is anyone a current member of FLSC?

Does Caribou have a video system for checking targets at 500yds?
Nothing to see here. Continue swimming.

I know Oakdale Gun Club's public hours are over now, and I am unaware of ANY Minneapolis indoor ranges that go beyond Bills North in Circle Pines, which is only 50 yards. I've looked all over, including the sticky posts here about ranges, as well as the DNR website, and others, but can't seem to find a suitable range. The members-only ranges I have looked at all seem to require being sponsored by current members.

I have a new Sako TRG-42 in .300 win mag, and I really, really want to take it out to 100.

next time try looking under Leagues and Clubs:

I already saw that post, but it doesn't indicate which ranges have at least 100 yard shooting or which ones can be easily joined. Thanks for the "helpful" hint though.

They have a gravel road that goes out there, even better. I would go nuts shooting at a max of 100 yards.....although it's much better than nothin'!!

Very interest in this place, but their website claims a rifle range out to $350, any insight?

The range isn't that expensive. Their website doesn't say that anyway....

Either I was half asleep or my phone was doing some funky auto-complete thing, wow.

What I meant to say was their website claims that the range goes out to 350 yards, is this accurate?

Minnetonka Game and Fish Club (http://www.mgfc.org) has ranges out to 400 yards. It is a nice facility northeast of Elk River. I don't believe they require being sponsored by an existing member, but they do have a wait list. I think it is a lot shorter than it used to be. Something like several months at this point.

What is the process in becoming a member at Gopher? I was looking at that range a while back and hear nothing but rave reviews from its members.
