Gun Stop Open?

Postby Xscream on Mon Dec 03, 2012 10:20 am

I heard a rumor Gunstop was opening today. Is there any truth to that?

Where's the "man on the scene" when you need him?

In chicago  Will stop in later this week..... 8-) and buy something on principle. Even if I don't need it.

Great news that Larry is getting the doors open!

Are we talking about the same GunStop that just closed or a new location?

Same location, same Larry - Sasha and I were there late last week and he was just debugging his POS system. While there weren't any guns out then, Larry still had some Pupperoni stashed in a closet for Sasha...

Was just there buying a Dillon strong mount. Guns are coming out, looked like mostly used stuff.

It's my understanding that the guns are from Larry's personal collection.
All I can say is the man has beautiful taste!

There are many classic revolvers, some nice mil-surp and others.
He had a Beretta 87. I haven't seen one of those in a while.
The whole time we were there a guy was drooling over a SCAR.

We managed to find three that we couldn't leave behind and am probably stopping back in tomorrow.

In Gunstop fashion, Larry isn't trying to retire off of every sale.
The three guns that we bought today were at VERY GOOD prices.
He made a profit but they were below market value.

Larry has always been the best consignment deal around.
I have to remember to ask if that's changed.

I felt like a long lost family member just came home!
It's great to have him up an running!

Just got back from a visit, as others have said, some very nice classics in there especially some of the old S&Ws. Wish I had some spare cash lying around...

Anyway, really did not see anything in the way of new. I suspect they are looking to make some sales to be able to stock the shelves. Nothing was marked yet price wise but looked like they were in the process of doing that so hard to judge the pricing yet. The counter was 8 guys deep though with Larry and one other working it, since I was on my lunch break, decided to come back later.

No Colts. Very few 1911's period. Very sad. Then as far as the gun that I went back for, was purchased by the guy in front of me.
I had to watch him buy it.
