Anybody ever buy from sportsmanoutdoorsuperstore.com

Looks good, but I've never bought from them before. Anyone have any experience with them? I've also never bought police trade-in firearms before. Do those who have bought trade-in's have any advice? My assumption is that with an LE trade I can at least be sure it was maintained well and shoots straight. Is that a safe assumption or am I giving them too much credit? Thanks!

I've never bought from them, but I have purchased a couple LE/gov't trade-ins. Typically, they'll show a lot of holster wear, but will be in excellent shape mechanically. I had a S&W 4043 that was a perfect example of this. The finish on the frame was worn wherever it contacted the holster and the grips had seen better days, but the barrel had nearly perfect rifling and the gun functioned flawlessly.

My first pistol was a used LEO return. A Glock 22 .40 S&W, I used it to qualify for my P2C. Seemed to be in excellent working order without too much holster wear, could have been a spare armory gun.

LEO trade in's that I've seen fit the descriptions above (from other sources) - holster wear but usually sound mechanically, like any sort of surplus firearms I'd consider it a buyer beware situation as it is always a dice roll... I've rolled the dice a lot and won though. :) No idea about sportsmanoutdoorsuperstore but I see deals of theirs pop on Fatwallet periodically and nobody has complained about getting their credit card stolen by the Russian mafia so far.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I went ahead and ordered one since I've been looking for a 229 for carry anyway. I'll post a review on this retailer under the review section once the whole transaction is completed. Thanks!

My CIO bought a Henry mare's leg from there, cheapest price I could find for him. He had no problems with the order. I've been wanting to buy one myself. Was also looking at their LE S&W 4586 trade in.

ordered a police trade in Model 10 from them a couple months back. Fast shipping, gun was in great condition (for being a police trade it). Overall, no complaints about them. And they seem to have really good deals
