Great gun retention, very happy with mine. The one I have is OWB style, exotic, can be concealed or not, and the leather is comfortable against the skin. Erik does good work. The only other holster I use is a Serpa for 3-gun.

Opinions on Side Guard Holsters

I'm thinking of these holsters for my XDM 9 compact. I keep reading good things.

I am 5'11" & 185# and carry either a P220 or P226 9mm in my Double Snap and I have never had any issues with movement or comfort. You should not have any issues what so ever with a P229.

I have a double snap tuckable which works for a M&P. Of course, I'm 6'4" and 290# ... so YMMV

Eric is local, and Eric does custom work, so he'll make you whatever you want, and if you have a gun that he doesn't have a molding plug for, you can drop it off at his door and he'll custom mold you a holster. He lives near the 3M complex in Maplewood. He'll keep your gun in a locked safe, and when he answers the door he has a gun on him, so your gun will be safe. The hooks on his IWB holsters are fail safe, in that they curl all the way around on the bottom, so there's no way for the holster to come unhooked from the belt when you draw no matter what. Make sure if you have some custom specifications, (like an 18 degree cant on an IWB) to write them down and give them to him, because he does a lot of holsters.

I have a number of SGH holsters and love all of them. I would order more.

+1 for him and his work!

Erik gets major props on here, so I'm sure his stuff is good, but I ended up going with a Slide Guard open top holster by High Noon Holsters, a custom holster maker tman recommended. They have IWB stuff to, so check them out. http://highnoonholsters.com/Product_Line/Belt_Holsters/Inside_The_Waistband/inside_the_waistband.html

Thanks guys. DKMags also have about 40-50 holsters in stock.

I use to use High Noon holsters 7+ years ago (I started 6 years ago) and even bought a couple extra AL forms from them. Don't use their stuff any more ;)

Gotta use your own products, right? Makes sense since you can also make them cheaper and exactly how you want to. Nothing wrong with that.

I wear a double snap with an XD-SC and love it. Best holster I have ever bought.
