If you happen to be up in the Alexandria area on Saturday (21st), please stop in at the Carry Depot as we will be having our second advanced shoot. The shoot will be an all day event starting at 9AM on Saturday. Here are some of the things to look for:
1. Ambush Alley: The alley is a walk thru the woods wherein different target systems expose themself for you to dispatch. This venue was a big hit at our May 25th event and has been reconfigured for this event (the alley will be different for each event so as to surprise the participant).
2. On our West and North ranges, we have a variety of steel targets (plate racks, dueling tree, cross over, etc) as well as a bowling pin shoot. Much of the foregoing will be a competition shoot wherein you will duel with another shooter and either be eliminated or advance to the next level.
The advanced program at the Carry Depot was never intended to be a for profit venture. We charge a mininal fee ($20-$30) to hopefully cover insurance, port potty, and other miscellaneous costs. This fee may vary from event to event as we determine what our participants want us to offer. As an example, we hope to re-introduce the mini-seminars that were so popular at our May 25th event. Some of the seminars offered or to be offered were/are "point shooting", "beginning pistol shooting", "surviving a knife fight", "intro to reloading", "evil guns, the AR and the AK", "women's non-firearm self defense", "feeding and maintainence of your Glock", "holster exercises - drawing from concealment", "gun takeaway exercises" plus many more based on our participant input.
For those of you coming from a distance and like to camp - we can offer you a shaded site but no other amenities (basically a place to pitch a tent or park a camper).
Let's keep our shooting hobbies alive! You have quite a few great opportunities offered thru this forum - take advantage of all of them!
Keep watching the http://www.carrydepot.com for future events. The site is not always current due to record carry permit training and gun sales (plus I am not as young as I used to be).
