Could never buy for 6, would rather buy 5 of them for the same price.

I do agree that is purdy, but just a little too much for my pocket book. Though a reasonable price is all in personal preference for the buyer.
I learn more from mistakes than from success, though given the option I prefer to learn from the mistakes of others.

All this work and the guy leaves the original stock on it?

Besides, $600 will buy you a brand new Savage that will outshoot it any day. Sporterization made sense when surplus rifles were sold out of barrels at hardware stores for $5 a pop, but now it's kinda beside the point.
